Makes seven clearances
Lochoshvili made three interceptions, two tackles and seven clearances during Friday's 1-0 loss to Frankfurt.
Analysis: Lochoshvili was a part of the Koln back line that conceded just once Friday finishing second on the team in interceptions and clearances. The defender has combined for six tackles, five interceptions and 14 clearances over his last three starts.
Consistent starter for Koln so far
Lochoshvili has started every game for Koln so far in the 2026/27 Bundesliga season.
Analysis: Lochoshvili has started every game at center-back for Koln despite the team using different tactical approaches in the first five matches of the campaign. In those five appearances, Lochoshvili has racked up 24 clearances, five blocked shots, five tackles and three interceptions.
Plays one half, scores in return
Lochoshvili (undisclosed) played one half and scored once in Thursday's 8-0 friendly win over Bergisch Gladbach, the club posted.
Analysis: Lochoshvili's return to match action, and immediate goal, is an encouraging sign after a muscular issue had kept him out of an earlier preseason friendly as a precaution. His involvement suggests the recently signed center back has put the setback behind him, positioning him to continue building toward full integration into Koln's squad ahead of the new 2026/27 Bundesliga season.
Partially rejoins team training
Lochoshvili (undisclosed) completed parts of team training as FC Koln began its second week of preseason preparations, after a muscular issue in the warmup ruled him out of the friendly against Rheinsud Koln as a precaution, according to the club.
Analysis: Lochoshvili's partial return is an encouraging sign after the recently signed center back felt discomfort before that match and was withdrawn from the starting lineup out of caution. His continued integration into full training will be worth tracking as Koln continues his preparations ahead of the new 2026/27 Bundesliga season.
Completes Koln move
Lochoshvili has completed a transfer from Nurnberg to Koln, his former club announced Thursday.
Analysis: Lochoshvili was a regular starter for Nurnberg in the 2. Bundesliga in the 2025/26 season, making 34 appearances as a center-back while tallying five goals and two assists. The Georgia international will compete for consistent playing time in the Bundesliga.
