Giorgi Chakvetadze
Recovering from foot injury
Chakvetadze suffered a fracture of the third metatarsal in his right foot during his most recent international appearances with Georgia in early June, Udinese announced.
Analysis: Chakvetadze switched sides despite the injury and will spend a few more weeks rehabbing. It's unclear at this stage whether he'll be ready for the Serie A opener in late August.
Joins Udinese
Chakvetadze has joined Udinese from their sister team Watford.
Analysis: Chakvetadze spent the last three campaigns in England, totaling three goals and 13 assists in 107 showings across all competitions. He previously starred for Slovan Bratislava and Gent. He'll start as a deputy in multiple positions in the midfield and in the attack, as he's very versatile, eyeing a bigger role should one of the Udinese linchpins depart later in the summer.
