Effective in loss
Salisu recorded one tackle (one won), six clearances and three interceptions in Sunday's 1-0 loss to Lorient. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 57th minute.
Analysis: Salisu delivered a solid performance in 66 minutes Sunday, recording six clearances, one tackle won and three interceptions. He continues to work his way back from ACL surgery, making his second league appearance and first start of the season. The defender will look to earn a larger role as he continues to regain fitness.
First minutes since ACL tear
Salisu played his first minutes in Friday's 2-1 win over Lens after a lengthy 258 day recovery from his ACL injury, according to the club.
Analysis: Salisu had been a mainstay in Monaco's defense before the injury, and could compete for a starting role once back to full speed under new coach Filipe Luis. His long awaited return marks a major milestone after tearing the ACL in his left knee back in January, and his workload should continue to build gradually as he works his way back into regular contention.
