Four saves in loss

Analysis: Atubolu's competitive debut with his new club was less than ideal. The goalkeeper was beaten three times, though individually it's hard to blame him when he made eight saves. The defense in front of him looks to be a mess, and despite the brilliant individual play, it just wasn't enough to make a difference.
Loaned to Frankfurt with buy option
Atubolu has joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan through the end of the season from Freiburg, with a buy option that becomes mandatory under certain conditions, according to the club. Sporting director Markus Krosche said "With Noah Atubolu we are gaining a strong, ambitious and already very experienced goalkeeper."
Analysis: Atubolu made 125 competitive appearances for Freiburg's first team, keeping 15 clean sheets in his debut season alone while setting club records with 609 consecutive minutes without conceding and five straight saved penalties in the Bundesliga. He started all 15 matches during Freiburg's run to the Europa League final last season, conceding just 13 goals in the tournament, and the 24 year old goalkeeper, who has been part of Germany's extended senior squad picture, now begins the next stage of his career at Frankfurt. He will fight with Kaua Santos for the starting spot between the posts.
