Stellar first cap for France
Da Cunha delivered an unbelievable performance and was likely the best player on the pitch in Monday's 1-0 win over Belgium, earning his first cap for France.
Analysis: Da Cunha completed 83 of 89 passes, 45 of them in the opposition half, hit the post with a long range effort in the second half, made six recoveries, won four duels and made two tackles. He has created 10 chances, attempted 13 crosses with six accurate and 12 corners, and added eight tackles across five Serie A appearances for Como this season, and this debut performance now positions him to compete for a starting role in France's midfield against names like Manu Kone, Adrien Rabiot, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, with coach Zinedine Zidane favoring a three man midfield built around one playmaker, leaving two open roles for Da Cunha to claim as a potential starting number six.
Returns to XI against Napoli
Da Cunha recorded three shots (zero on goal), one cross (one accurate) and two chances created and won one of two tackles in Sunday's 2-1 win over Napoli.
Analysis: Da Cunha was back in the starting lineup after coming off the bench last week and was bubbly but not very clutch in the final third. He'll likely split duties with Maximo Perrone and Samuele Ricci consistently, given Luis Milla's early success. He has posted at least one key pass (three total), one tackle and exactly one cross in his first two appearances.
