Yasser Larouci
Available after clearing protocols
Larouci is available for Saturday's clash against Nice after clearing concussion protocols, according to the club.
Analysis: Larouci had been sidelined for 10 days due to those concussion protocols, a minor early setback so soon after his summer move to Le Mans on a free transfer. His return now gives the club another option in defense as he continues integrating with his new team.
Out 10 days with concussion protocols
Larouci will be out for 10 days due to concussion protocols, according to manager Patrick Videira.
Analysis: Larouci signed with Le Mans this summer on a free transfer, bringing experience from spells with Troyes, Sheffield United, Watford and most recently Kifisia in Greece. His absence is a minor early setback so soon after his arrival, and his path back into the squad will be worth monitoring as Le Mans continues his return season back in Ligue 1.
Signs with Le Mans through 2029
Larouci signed with Le Mans on a free transfer through 2029, the club announced.
Analysis: Larouci came through the Le Havre and Liverpool academies before making close to 50 Ligue 1 appearances with Troyes across the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. He continued his career in England with Sheffield United before spending last season in the Championship with Watford, making 39 appearances. The left back reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 U21 Euros with France before switching allegiance to Algeria, and he was part of the Fennecs squad for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations. Larouci spent last season in the Greek top flight with Kifisia. He is expected to add depth and energy down the left flank as Le Mans' third signing of the window.
