Concedes three in defeat

Analysis: Kovar made two saves in Wednesday's 3-0 World Cup loss to Mexico, including a first-half denial of Jorge Sanchez and a key stop on Santiago Jimenez before Alvaro Fidalgo buried the rebound for the third goal in stoppage time. He had little chance on either of Mexico's first two strikes as Czechia struggled to gain any foothold and rarely threatened on the counterattack. The loss sends Czechia crashing out of the World Cup at the group stage after finishing bottom of Group A with just one point from three matches.

Analysis: Kovar didn't face a lot of pressure, if not late in the game, conceded on a well-taken PK and had his best save shortly thereafter to block a daisy-cutter and preserve the result. He has surrendered three goals and made seven saves through two games. The Czech Republic will face Mexico on Wednesday to close the group stage.
