Quiet outing in draw
Aguirre had zero shots and created one chance during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Chivas.
Analysis: Aguirre returned to the starting XI after a rare appearance off the bench in the previous game but was mostly dominated by the opposing defense, failing to even attempt a shot while he remained on the pitch. That's now four consecutive games without a goal for the forward, who will probably have increased responsibilities up front with Juan Francisco Brunetta (suspension) out for at least one game.
Returns to contention
Aguirre (international duty) has rejoined group training with Tigres after his participation with Uruguay during the FIFA window, the club announced Thursday.
Analysis: Aguirre should be an option for the remainder of the league campaign as long as he stays healthy, with his return to full team activities putting him back in the mix for Tigres' attacking group. The forward scored a nice goal from outside the box when given the opportunity to play a few minutes at the international level against India, but overall he didn't see a lot of minutes, so he'll likely be fit to regain a starting spot in Liga MX play. His return affects Guillermo Martinez negatively in terms of playing time.
Absent due to international call-up
Aguirre has arrived in Uruguay's training camp and is likely to miss the upcoming Liga MX clash against Puebla.
Analysis: Aguirre has seen plenty of action since August after Tigres' offseason departures left him as the lone center-forward option, recording three goals and one assist throughout seven full matches played in the Apertura tournament. Luckily for the team, they now have Guillermo Martinez and Emiliano Gomez available, both of whom joined late in the transfer window and will compete for the spot vacated by Aguirre's absence. After the break, the experienced striker will be back in contention for the Oct. 9 meeting with Toluca.
Quiet outing in draw
Aguirre had one off-target shot during Saturday's scoreless draw against Monterrey.
Analysis: Aguirre had arguably his worst performance since the new campaign began, even spending long stretches without touching the ball. With three goals and an assist over the previous five games, the forward's fantasy stock remains very high and, fully settled at Tigres after joining them midseason last year, he's now expected to score in double digits again as he did with both America and Necaxa in the past.

Aguirre scored a goal off two shots (both on target) during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Necaxa.
Analysis: Aguirre had a rough start, being held in check for most of the first half and even committing a penalty that could've doubled the opposition's lead midway through the frame if it wasn't for Nahuel Guzman saving it. But the striker redeemed himself in the 40th minute, when he headed home a corner kick from the right to draw things level at 1-1. That's now three goals and an assist over the last five starts for Aguirre, who's definitely back of his best after disappointing for most of last season.

Aguirre scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and two crosses (one accurate) in Friday's 2-0 victory against Atlante.
Analysis: Aguirre missed a chance in the first half and then redeemed himself with a left-footed shot that beat the goalkeeper in the 79th minute against Potros. It was the striker's second goal in the Apertura 2026 tournament, ranking him second on the team in that aspect behind Juan Francisco Brunetta. Until the UANL side signs another center-forward, the Uruguayan will likely continue to record all or most minutes on the field while the team looks to start a productive streak.
Assists in loss to Atlas
Aguirre assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Atlas.
Analysis: Aguirre served a ball that led to Juan Francisco Brunetta's goal as the visitors caught the opposing defense off guard in the 21st minute of this game, although it was not enough for them to avoid defeat. It has been far from a convincing start to the campaign for Tigres, but Aguirre has managed to achieve two goals and two assists across six matches played counting both league and Leagues Cup action. With the club taking its time to sign a new center-forward, the Uruguayan international remains the only nominal option in that position, so he's likely to retain high playing time in the short term.
Scores goal in return
Aguirre scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal) and two crosses (zero accurate) in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Queretaro.
Analysis: Aguirre produced through a header from inside the six-yard box in the 41st minute of his second Apertura start after serving a one-game suspension. The goal was his first direct contribution since April 18, coming in his sixth shot over that period. The recent departures of Andre-Pierre Gignac and Angel Correa have left the Uruguayan international as Tigres' only nominal striker, so he'll likely get more opportunities to impress in upcoming Leagues Cup and Liga MX tests while the team looks for another alternative in the No. 9 role.
Option going forward
Aguirre is available again following his suspension in the week two match against San Luis.
Analysis: Aguirre's return gives a welcome boost to a Tigres squad that no longer has Andre-Pierre Gignac and Angel Correa for the Apertura tournament and deployed Ozziel Herrera as a striker in the last game. The Uruguayan international, who barely got involved for his country at the World Cup, should bounce back to the starting lineup and hope to capitalize chances inside the box for a team that has scored three goals over two Apertura 2026 matches so far.
Sent off in loss to Xolos
Aguirre was sent off with a straight red card in the 46th minute of Thursday's 3-1 defeat against Club Tijuana. He recorded no stats before his removal.
Analysis: Aguirre became the first Liga MX player to be sent off under the new rule prohibiting covering your mouth while talking, just as it happened to Miguel Almiron in Paraguay during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Aguirre will miss the match against San Luis on Saturday, July 25, but he should be available for selection to face Queretaro on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Credited with assist
Aguirre assisted once to go with zero corners and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Club Necaxa. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 82nd minute.
Analysis: Aguirre wasn't having his best performance, but a clever touch inside the box allowed him to assist Angel Correa's equalizer in stoppage time. The striker might return to the XI when Tigres take on Atlas on Wednesday.
