Seven crosses in defeat
Emerson recorded one shot (zero on goal), seven crosses (three accurate) and two corners in Friday's 1-0 loss against Rennes.
Analysis: Emerson was Marseille's most active wide contributor in Friday's 1-0 Ligue 1 defeat at Rennes, delivering seven crosses of which three were accurate and making two interceptions across a full 90-minute shift that saw him consistently overlap and threaten Rennes' right side throughout a first half Marseille largely controlled. He also delivered two corners that forced Brice Samba into intervention, contributing to a Marseille attacking performance that deserved at least a point based on the number of clear-cut opportunities created. Emerson has now started all four of Marseille's Ligue 1 fixtures this season and his consistent two-way contributions have been one of the few positives in a deeply disappointing start to the campaign under new coach Bruno Genesio.
Six tackles in victory
Emerson generated one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 1-0 win over Le Havre.
Analysis: Emerson logged the full 90 minutes at left-back in Sunday's 1-0 win at Le Havre, turning in one of his strongest defensive performances for Marseille with a season-high six tackles (three won), three interceptions and two clearances. The defender looks fully back in the rotation and has reestablished himself as a regular starter, earning a spot in the XI in each of the last four matches after starting just once in the previous five. Emerson will aim to stay sharp and deliver again in the season finale against Rennes on Sunday.
