Dany Mota
MON
Provides assist
Mota Carvalho assisted once to go with three shots (two on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Monday's 4-0 win versus Cagliari.
Analysis: Mota Carvalho returned to the starting lineup after beginning the previous three matches on the bench, making an immediate impact by setting up Edy Kouadio's opening goal with a well-weighted through ball in the 40th minute. The Portuguese attacker also tested Elia Caprile twice and remained involved in Monza's attacking buildup before his second-half substitution. He has now registered two assists and seven chances created across five Serie A appearances this season, including two starts. His productive performance could strengthen his chances of retaining a starting role after several matches as a substitute.
Assists after half-time cameo
Mota Carvalho assisted once to go with five shots (four on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Lazio.
Analysis: Mota Carvalho came on at half time with Monza a man down and gave them a spark, nodding a corner across for Saba Goglichidze to pull a goal back. The forward was the most threatening player in the side despite his limited minutes and forced Christos Mandas into four saves, though Monza could not find an equalizer before Lazio sealed the win late on.
Serves disqualification
Mota Carvalho completed a one-game ban in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Inter.
Analysis: Mota Carvalho will return against Udinese and could play over Adam Bakoune, with Ricardo Mangas returning to his natural role on the wing, and compete with Patrick Cutrone and Jay Robinson. He recorded five goals and two assists in 30 matches in Serie B last season.
Unavailable versus Inter
Mota won't be an option against Inter on Saturday because of a disqualifcation.
Analysis: Mota will have to sit out the first match of the season due to yellow-card accumulation. Patrick Cutrone could play as a no.10 supporting Gustavo Varela. Jay Robinson and Omari Forson are the other alternatives in the role.
