Will miss a few games
Orsolini has been diagnosed with a left flexor strain and will be out for three weeks, Bologna announced.
Analysis: Orsolini is dealing with a standard muscular problem and will likely skip the next three fixtures, returning after the first international break. Federico Bernardeschi and Jens Odgaard will benefit from the situation, as they'll have one less competitor. Niccolo Cambiaghi and Samuel Mbangula could also play on the right wing if need be.
Hurt in Atalanta fixture
Orsolini played just 20 minutes off the bench in Monday's 1-0 loss to Atalanta before leaving due to a thigh injury, Gianluca Di Marzio reported.
Analysis: Orsolini made way for Federico Bernardeschi in the starting lineup and didn't record stats after subbing in before exiting because of a muscular problem. He was spotted icing the area right away on the bench. He'll take tests in the next few days to determine his status for Sunday's home game versus Sassuolo and eventually his timetable.
Extends Bologna contract
Orsolini has agreed to prolong his contract with Bologna until 2031.
Analysis: Orsolini tacked on four more years to his previous deal and could very well finish his career at Bologna. He's been a fixture since 2018 and has scored at least 10 goals in four consecutive seasons. He added one assist, 82 shots (31 on target), 26 key passes and 40 crosses (five accurate) in 35 Serie A tilts in 2025/2026. His competitor, Federico Bernardeschi, might play in a different role this year. Jens Odgaard could also get some run on the wing in a pinch.

Orsolini suffered a first-degree left adductor strain in training, Bologna announced.
Analysis: Orsolini will need two to three weeks to recover, so the problem shouldn't affect his pre-season preparation. Jonathan Rowe and Federico Bernardeschi will be the lone pure wingers available for this one, as Nicolo Cambiaghi (thigh) is also on the mend. Jens Odgaard and Simon Sohm could adapt if need be. Orsolini wasn't as effective as in the previous campaign but managed to reach the double-digit threshold in Serie A play for the fourth straight season, concluding with 13 goals, one assist, 112 shots (43 on target) and 60 crosses (10 accurate) in 48 appearances (30 starts) across all competitions.

Analysis: Orsolini was the difference in this match and with Bologna essentially locked into eighth in the standings, he could see more playing time in the league finale against Inter Milan. It's a tough matchup though, as Inter have only allowed 32 goals on the season in domestic play.
