Ivan Provedel
INT
Concedes once in first start
Provedel recorded one save and allowed one goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over Fiorentina.
Analysis: Provedel made his maiden appearance as Josep Martinez got the day off and was surprised by a pile-driver from distance, getting beaten on his own post. The starter hasn't been spotless, but he didn't fully seize this opportunity. Up next, Inter will face Milan at home Sunday.
Returns in friendly
Provedel (shoulder) appeared in Saturday's pre-season game versus Manchester City.
Analysis: Provedel completed his rehab protocol from a shoulder injury he suffered in March in his final months at Lazio and will be ready to roll for the opener. He begins behind Josep Martinez in the pecking order.
Moves to Inter
Provedel has transferred to Inter on a permanent deal from Lazio.
Analysis: Provedel replaces previous starter Yann Sommer in the squad and is expected to back up and compete with Josep Martinez, who's set to open the season as the no.1 goalie. Provedel is coming off a bounce-back campaign during which he kept 12 clean sheets, made 90 saves and allowed 27 goals in 27 appearances before suffering a serious shoulder injury he's still recovering from. Instead, Lazio could roll with Christos Mandas and Edoardo Motta between the sticks.
