Buongiorno (knee) is working his way through the rehab protocol without hiccups, but he will need at least a couple of months to be ready, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

Buongiorno will go under the knife to repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee, Napoli announced.

Analysis: Buongiorno tried to push through the injury during the pre-season retreat, but the discomfort wasn't subsiding.
