Ivan Ilić
Will require surgery
Ilic has undergo more tests on his thigh, which disclosed a partial rectus femoris tendon tear that will be surgically repaired in Finland, Lecce announced.
Analysis: Ilic wasn't making progress in his recovery, and further exams revealed a much more severe issue that will keep him on the shelf for two to three months after the operation. Oumar Ngom and Omri Gandelman will keep absorbing his minutes.
Suffers thigh injury
Ilic underwent an MRI on Tuesday that revealed a lesion to his left thigh femoral rectus muscle, the club announced.
Analysis: Ilic left the team's previous game with an injury, and tests have confirmed he'll need time on the sidelines. His availability for the next few matches is in question, but he'll likely miss at least a few.
Forced off early against Bologna
Ilic generated three crosses (zero accurate) and three corners in 35 minutes in Sunday's match versus Bologna before leaving due to a possible thigh injury, Sky Italy reported.
Analysis: Ilic picked up some stats thanks to set pieces during his time on the pitch but required medical attention due to some muscular discomfort near the end of the first half and couldn't continue. He's set for tests ahead of next Sunday's away game versus Udinese. Oumar Ngom substituted for him in this one.
Assists twice in Monza fixture
Ilic assisted twice to go with six crosses (two accurate), two key passes and four corners in Sunday's 3-2 win over Monza.
Analysis: Ilic recorded his first two goal contributions of the season in the same fashion, picking out two teammates open in the box with precise corner kicks. He wasted little time becoming a starter after a late move, and this performance will easily cement his role. He has posted nine crosses and four corners so far.
Three crosses Monday
Ilic recorded one shot (zero on goal), three crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Monday's 1-0 loss against Cagliari.
Analysis: Ilic was in the starting XI for the first time since moving to Lecce, coming after he earned his first minutes against Rome last campaign. He played 66 minutes as he recorded 51 passes completed and two crosses, leading the midfield a decent amount. However, his goal contribution count brings his fantasy relevance into question, as he has not had more than a single goal contribution in a season since the 2023/24 campaign.
Moves to Lecce
Ilic is headed to Lecce on a season-long loan with an option to buy from Torino.
Analysis: Ilic will get a chance to play more regularly after being a deep reserve for Torino and cycling through injuries in the past two campaigns, notching 29 crosses (eight accurate), 17 chances created and 13 tackles in 27 total appearances (14 starts). He'll compete primarily with Olaf Gorter and Youssef Maleh.
