Quiet in loss

Pinnock had one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 1-0 loss against Manchester City. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 92nd minute.

Analysis: Pinnock wasn't overly involved during Saturday's loss, and was shown a yellow card during second half stoppage time. It's not a bad performance especially against one of the top teams in the league, and Coventry City really didn't expect much more. Still Pinnock will rue that they so nearly held City to nothing.

Signs with Coventry City

Pinnock has joined Coventry City from Brentford on a three-year contract, the club announced.

Analysis: Pinnock's exit from Brentford comes after seven seasons and 216 appearances that included a key role in the club's 2020-21 promotion to the Premier League, but his playing time dropped off sharply in recent seasons, with just eight appearances (four in the league) last term as he fell behind Nathan Collins, Sepp van den Berg, and Kristoffer Ajer in the pecking order. At Coventry, he's set to compete with Bobby Thomas and Aurele Amenda for a starting center-back spot as the newly promoted Sky Blues look to add experience and leadership to their backline.

Difficult performance Saturday

Pinnock generated an own goal, one tackle (one won) and four clearances in Saturday's 3-1 defeat versus Fulham.

Analysis: Pinnock inadvertently headed Ryan Sessegnon's cross past his own goalkeeper in the 50th minute to give Fulham the decisive lead. He otherwise battled in the air alongside Nathan Collins as Brentford defended long spells in the second half, making four clearances and two blocks in the process. The center back was in the starting squad for the second game in a row and could keep that role moving forward despite the difficult performance with the Bees.

Returns in Carabao Cup

Pinnock (hamstring) started and played 60 minutes during Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash with Bournemouth.

Analysis: Pinnock missed out against Aston Villa due to a hamstring injury, but was deemed fit enough to start Tuesday's Cup clash. He went 60 minutes in the match before being brought off with a one-goal lead. Pinnock is likely a depth option at this point, but he's still a quality center-back and should see plenty of matches in all competitions.
