Sharing minutes in midfield
Gomis has appeared in all five league matches, starting three, and remains one of the decent option for ESTAC in the engine room.
Analysis: Gomis has played 272 minutes, coming off the bench twice and being substituted off twice. He has yet to record a goal or assist and has received one yellow card. His contributions in midfield are decent with seven tackles, two interceptions and four clearances in five outings for ESTAC.
Injured in season opener
Gomis was subbed off due to injury in the 76th minute of Saturday's 0-0 draw against Paris FC. He had one shot (zero on goal) and one chance created before exiting the match.
Analysis: Troyes' 2026-27 season began Saturday, and Gomis was immediately added to the team's starting XI to begin the campaign. He was replaced by Alexandre Phliponeau and will be questionable going into Troyes' next game, currently scheduled for Aug. 29 at Lorient.
Signs with Troyes as free agent
Gomis has signed with Troyes on a free transfer through June 2028, according to the club.
Analysis: Gomis came through Amiens' academy and made over 80 Ligue 2 appearances for the club after a loan spell at USL Dunkerque, before moving to Turkey's Super Lig with Kasimpasa in 2023. He went on to spend time in Serie A with Salernitana and most recently played in Azerbaijan with Zira FK, featuring in both league play and European qualifying rounds. The move to Troyes gives the 26 year old midfielder a fresh opportunity in France, bringing experience across multiple European leagues to bolster the club's midfield options.
