Notches five clearances
Rabia recorded one interception, four tackles (two won) and five clearances in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Argentina.
Analysis: Rabia started the final three games of the World Cup for Egypt, notching 300 minutes of play in those matches after only 68 minutes through their first two games. He was unable to help to a clean sheet at the World Cup, but still recorded four interceptions, eight tackles and 23 clearances.
Makes eight clearances
Rabia recorded one shot on target and eight clearances in Friday's 1-1 (5-3) penalty shootout victory versus Australia.
Analysis: Rabia made a second straight start for the Pharaohs and looked impressive at the back, certainly posting better results than the ones he had in his previous start versus Iran. Rabia could remain in the starting lineup since Egypt are dealing with plenty of injuries at the back ahead of their Round of 16 showdown against Argentina on Tuesday.
Struggles aerially in start
Rabia recorded one tackle (zero won) and six clearances in Friday's 1-1 draw versus Iran.
Analysis: Rabia came into the centre of defence to cover for the injured Hamdy Fathy and did an acceptable job for the most part. The one concern was his aerial duel record as he won only two of eight, a disappointing return in an area where he would be expected to dominate. He was solid enough in other aspects though, contributing one tackle, one block and six clearances while completing 81 passes throughout the game.
