Moves to Roma
De Roon transferred to Roma on a permanent deal from Atalanta.
Analysis: De Roon fell behind Gianluca Gaetano after the summer window and decided to leave to join his long-time coach Gian Piero Gasperini at Roma, which are expected to part ways with Neil El Aynaoui in the same role. He'll rotate with Bryan Cristante, Manu Kone and Niccolo Pisilli. He scored once, assisted four times and recorded 97 tackles, 31 chances created and 99 clearances in 46 fixtures last season.
Versatile outing against Fiorentina
De Roon created two scoring chances and had one takle (one won), two shots (zero on target) and three interceptions in Friday's 1-1 draw against Fiorentina.
Analysis: De Roon was more well-rounded than usual, as he generally keys in on the passive phase, matching his season highs in attempts and chances created. He has tallied at least one tackle in 16 straight matches to end the season, amassing 37 (19 won). He was the usual stalwart this year, recording four assists, 89 clearances, 18 key passes and 97 tackles in 46 matches (42 starts).
Busy in the back against Milan
De Roon generated three tackles (zero won), two clearances and three interceptions and committed three fouls in Sunday's 3-2 win over AC Milan.
Analysis: De Roon did his part in trying to limit the opponents, which Atalanta successfully accomplished until the stoppage time. He has registered at least one clearance in eight matches on the trot, totaling 13 and logging four key passes, four crosses and eight interceptions during that span. Additionally, this marked his 14th straight outing with one or more tackles, for a total of 33 (18 won). He might move to the back against Bologna due to Isak Hien's suspension and several potential absences.
