Three tackles in loss

van Ewijk registered one cross (one accurate) and three tackles in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 19th minute.

Analysis: van Ewijk made three tackles during Saturday's loss, as well as sending in a cross. That's a nice performance during the defeat in one of the toughest matches of the campaign. He should be a big part of the team, and will hope he can translate this performance into some more manageable matches. If he does so he could have some sneaky upside, though it's hard to trust any Coventry defenders.

Creates two chances

van Ewijk registered three crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Hull City.

Analysis: Van Ewijk was one of Coventry's more productive creators, generating two key passes while completing two of his three crosses from right-back. He also won his lone tackle and created Jay Dasilva's late headed opportunity. His speed and attacking intent from defense should remain an important part of Coventry's approach, particularly when the side needs additional width against deeper defensive blocks.

One tackle Friday

van Ewijk had one tackle (zero won), three clearances and one interception in Friday's 3-0 defeat versus Arsenal.

Analysis: van Ewijk made a single tackles and three clearances as he tried anything to get a touch of the ball in a match that Arsenal controlled throughout. The defender was unable to get on the ball as Arsenal simply dominated the match from start-to-finish. van Ewijk should find some other matches more manageable than taking on the reigning champions.

Playmaker for Sky Blues

Van Ewijk recorded nine assists across 44 league appearances in the 2025/26 Championship season.

Analysis: Playing in his third season with the Sky Blues, van Ewijk was tied for the team's lead in assists and also logged over 3,700 minutes. A competent left-back who thrives when pushing forward, van Ewijk should at least have a rotational role with Coventry in the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
