Holds backup role
Chevalier has remained on the bench for PSG's first five Ligue 1 matches, with Matvey Safonov remaining the undisputed starter in goal ahead of him.
Analysis: Chevalier has yet to play a competitive minute this season, leaving him without a league appearance through five rounds. Chevalier recorded 17 Ligue 1 appearances in 2025/26 before losing his starter role at PSG and also his place in the French national team. His minutes are unlikely to evolve positively in the coming months if Safonov remains healthy and available.
Returns to bench
Chevalier (thigh) is on the bench for Saturday's Champions League final against Arsenal.
Analysis: Chevalier has been included in the squad after progressing to full collective training sessions this week following the thigh issue that had limited him to individual work in recent weeks, earning a place among the substitutes for the biggest game of PSG's season. The goalkeeper had lost his starting role to Matvey Safonov during the campaign and was also left out of France's World Cup squad, making his return to the matchday squad a small but welcome positive note in what has been a difficult end to the season on a personal level.
