Makes three saves in victory
Safonov made three saves and allowed two goals in Tuesday's 4-2 victory against Barcelona.
Analysis: Safonov produced several important stops to help PSG secure their third consecutive Champions League victory, notably denying Raphinha and Fermin Lopez during the first half before keeping out Gavi after the break. However, he was unable to prevent Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal from scoring as Barcelona twice equalized. The Russian goalkeeper has now registered 12 saves and five goals conceded across three Champions League appearances this season, without recording a clean sheet. Safonov will look to build on his latest performance when PSG face Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Makes seven saves
Safonov registered seven saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Strasbourg.
Analysis: Safonov played an important role in PSG's comeback victory, producing seven saves to keep his side within reach after Strasbourg took an early lead. The goalkeeper made a particularly important stop to deny Conrad Harder's header early in the second half before Paris scored three goals. Safonov has now recorded 19 saves, nine goals conceded and one clean sheet across seven Ligue 1 appearances this season. The Russian goalkeeper will look to build on his strong performance when PSG face Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday before hosting Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
