Five crosses in 3-0 defeat
Tierney generated one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (three accurate) and three chances created in Wednesday's 3-0 defeat to Brazil.
Analysis: Tierney came on as a halftime replacement for captain Andy Robertson and created three chances from three of his five completed crosses in those 45 minutes. He was unused in the opening game of the tournament and then played 60 minutes further forward on the left of midfield in the second game against Morocco. He has taken a shot in both of his games so far in this World Cup.
Expected available after cramp
Tierney (cramp) was forced off in the 60th minute of Friday's defeat to Morocco but coach Steve Clarke confirmed the issue was nothing more than cramp, allaying fears of a more serious muscle problem, per The Standard. "Kieran was terrific, he just cramped up a little bit."
Analysis: Tierney's early exit had raised immediate concerns given his injury history throughout the season, but coach Steve Clarke's reassuring update suggests he should be available for Scotland's final group stage fixture. Ben Gannon Doak came on as his replacement and provided a different attacking threat down the left flank, though Tierney's availability for the next fixture will be confirmed in the coming days. Scotland now need a positive result in their final group stage game to have any chance of progressing, making Tierney's fitness an important factor heading into the must-win clash.
