Saúl Coco
Helps stifle Monza
Coco won two of two tackles and had four clearances, one interceptions and two blocks in Monday's 3-0 victory over Parma.
Analysis: Coco had a routine display in the back, picking up stats across the board as usual, and his team didn't concede for the first time in the year in this one. He has registered three or more clearances in seven consecutive rounds, totaling 33 and posting five interceptions, six blocks and six shots (one on target) over that span. Additionally, this was his third game on the trot with multiple tackles, for a total of eight (five won).
Fares decently in Roma game
Coco (knee) generated five clearances, one block and three interceptions in Monday's 2-0 loss against Roma.
Analysis: Coco saw full minutes despite not being 100 percent because of a knock and had a pretty good showing in the back, even though his side allowed two goals to a high-wattage offense. He has tallied multiple clearances in every fixture thus far, totaling 21 and adding three tackles (two won), three interceptions and three blocks in that stretch, with no clean sheets.
Good to go for Roma game
Coco (knee) "is fit enough to play Monday," coach Ignazio Abate stated.
Analysis: Coco was diagnosed with a simple knee bruise after exiting early in the previous game and has a shot to stay in the XI over Ardian Ismajli, as he trained fully late in the week. He has recorded two or more clearances in all three fixtures, accumulating 16 and adding three tackles (two won), two blocks and two shots (one on target), with no clean sheets.
Leaves early in Fiorentina match
Coco generated one tackle (one won) and two clearances before exiting Saturday's game versus Torino at the 40th minute because of an injury, Gianluca Di Marzio reported.
Analysis: Coco was decently sturdy in the back but was forced off before the interval due to a likely muscular injury. Ardian Ismajli got the call to substitute for him. He'll take some tests before next Monday's home game versus Roma.
Decent defensive outing
Coco generated two tackles (one won), seven clearances and one interception in Sunday's 0-0 draw versus Cremonese. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 78th minute.
Analysis: Coco turned in a solid shift in Sunday's 0-0 draw at Cremonese, though he had a few shaky moments trying to deal with Antonio Sanabria. He still made his presence felt defensively with seven clearances, one block, one interception and two tackles (one won), helping Torino lock down their second clean sheet in the last three matches. Coco has now started 30 Serie A games this season and has already set new career highs with 49 tackles and 36 blocks.
