Forced off with injury
Saliba was forced off during the first half of Tuesday's World Cup clash with Spain, possibly due to his nagging back injury.
Analysis: Saliba made it less than 30 minutes before being forced off with an apparent injury during the semifinal. It's a brutal turn for France, as their top center-back had to be replaced by Maxence Lacroix. If France make it to the final, Lacroix could be in line for a start, though Saliba would obviously try and do everything to get fit. Saliba was already set for back surgery after the World Cup, so it's possible something tweaked the wrong way Tuesday, forcing him off early after going the full 90 in five of the prior six games.
Solid defensively
Saliba had five clearances and one interception in Thursday's 2-0 win versus Morocco.
Analysis: Saliba would play the full 90 minutes Thursday as he would earn a clean sheet, notching one interception and five clearances in the win. That said, this is the fourth straight clean sheet the center-back has helped his team to. He has only left the field once all tournament, having been rested against Norway in the group stage finale.
