Nine saves, three goals conceded
Widell Zetterstrom logged nine saves but conceded three goals during Sweden's 3-0 loss to France on Tuesday.
Analysis: Once again, Widell Zetterstrom started over Kristoffer Nordfeldt, who conceded five goals during Sweden's group-stage game against the Netherlands. Playing against France was always going to be tough, considering the French's contender status, and their 12 shots on goal back said statement. Stopping 75 percent of France's on-target attempts is impressive, and for the World Cup, his save tally more than quintupled from two to 11. But like past and potentially future teams this WC, France's frontline dominated, led by Kylian Mbappe (two goals) and Bradley Barcola (one).
Two saves in 1-1 draw
Widell Zetterstrom made two saves and allowed one goal in Thursday's 1-1 draw versus Japan.
Analysis: Zetterstrom made his World Cup debut as Sweden drew 1-1 with Japan. He had previously been on the bench for the first two group games. The Derby keeper produced an outstanding save in the first half to prevent a Nakamura goal, but did concede to a Daizen Maeda chance in the second half. The attacker was found free by Ritsu Doan, and the keeper was left with little chance as the Celtic player tucked his shot into the bottom corner.
