Scores and impresses defensively
Hernandez scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Tuesday's 4-2 win against Barcelona.
Analysis: Hernandez made the most of his opportunity at left-back following Nuno Mendes' injury, restoring PSG's lead in the 72nd minute with a powerful header from a corner. The French defender also delivered an excellent defensive performance against Lamine Yamal, winning all three of his tackles while contributing one interception and three clearances. He has recorded one assist, three tackles and two interceptions across three Champions League appearances this season, including one start. With Mendes sidelined, Hernandez could continue sharing minutes at left-back with Lucas Digne, although his impressive display against Barcelona strengthens his case for additional starts.
Filling reserve defensive role
Hernandez has made two appearances, including one start, across PSG's first five Ligue 1 matches and remains now either a bench option or out of the matchday squad due to coach decision.
Analysis: Hernandez has played 116 league minutes and received one yellow card, with no goals or assists. He was on the bench against Brest on Sept. 13 and was not listed among the substitutes at Marseille a week later as he remains a rotational option at best for PSG.
