Analysis: Iwobi took three crosses but failed to create a chance during Sunday's loss. It was a day to forget for the entire Fulham starting XI, as they were totally outdone by the workrate of Sunderland. Iwobi did maintain a role on set-pieces, which helps keep his floor stable moving forward.
Scores penalty, ready for season
Iwobi scored a penalty in Fulham's 2-1 comeback win over Farense to close out the club's preseason camp in Portugal, the club announced.
Analysis: Iwobi carved open the defense with an incisive pass to Ryan Sessegnon and later equalized from the penalty spot after Emile Smith Rowe won a spot kick. He was arguably Fulham's most reliable performer last season, starting all 29 of his 29 Premier League appearances and racking up 2,434 minutes with four goals, three assists and 44 key passes, adding 41 corners, 27 tackles and 14 interceptions to underline his influence at both ends of the pitch. That well-rounded output has cemented him as one of the more dependable pieces of Fulham's setup, and he now looks fully primed heading into the new campaign. Iwobi is expected to carry that consistency into the season opener and beyond.
