Nearing return after knee injury

Elgezabal has recovered and is preparing for his return after overcoming issues in his right knee, with the friendly match against Albacete potentially the target for his reappearance, according to Eric Martin Gasulla of Mundo Levante.

Analysis: Elgezabal has not played for Levante since February 8, when he scored a scissor kick goal against Athletic Bilbao, after which knee discomfort progressively worsened following a torn lateral meniscus suffered in December that required surgery. He has since been left out of every preseason friendly this summer, and while he now appears close to a return, his role has diminished to a backup center back given the club's technical decisions and his physical struggles, with his contract expiring in 2027 and interest already emerging from clubs like Real Oviedo as his future at the club remains uncertain.
