Another bench appearance
Akpom recorded one tackle (one won) in Saturday's 3-2 loss versus Manchester City.
Analysis: Akpom would once again make an appearance from the bench for Ipswich, getting a 12-minute cameo to end the contest. This gives the forward his fifth appearance of the season, still having yet to start a game. However, he still has a goal, earning a goal from the bench in their second contest of the season.
Returns after two game break
Akpom had one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 1-0 loss versus Everton.
Analysis: Akpom came off the bench with nine minutes to go as Ipswich searched for a goal as they were 1-0 behind to Everton and would go on to lose by that scoreline. He had one shot in this time, which was his first appearance since scoring against Manchester United.
Scores late consolation goal in 5-2 loss
Akpom scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Sunday's 5-2 defeat versus Manchester United.
Analysis: Akpom scored his first goal of the season from his only shot so far. He has come off the bench in both games so far this season. Last year he only started seven games in the Championship and ended the season with just two goals.
Signs permanently until 2029
Akpom has joined Ipswich Town on a permanent basis from Ajax until 2029 after a purchase clause was triggered during his loan spell, the club announced.
Analysis: Akpom made 31 appearances during the promotion-winning Championship campaign, scoring important goals against Hull City and Oxford United in vital victories as the Blues secured their return to the Premier League. Akpom's permanent signing rewards a solid contribution to one of the most successful seasons in the club's recent history and gives Ipswich an experienced attacking option heading into the top flight.
