Svanberg (calf) scored one goal to go with one shot (one on target) and one pass in six minutes in Sunday's 5-1 victory over Tunisia.
Analysis: Svanberg saw limited action after dealing with an injury in the lead-up to the World Cup, but he still made the stat sheet thanks to a sneaky deflection on a set piece, as a laborious VAR review went his way. His playing time could increase as he gets healthier during the course of the tournament. He had a secondary role at Wolfsburg last season, scoring three goals and dishing out one assist in 24 tilts (eight starts).
Option for play
Svanberg (calf) is fit again and has been cleared of his injury, according to manager Dieter Hecking. "Apart from the really prolonged absences, everyone has reported back in training - Svanberg, Muller, and Lindstrom. That means everyone's fit again, and it allows me to have more options to choose from."
Analysis: Svanberg has been sidelined but is ending the injury absence, as the midfielder was back in training and has returned to full fitness.
