Cakir kept the hosts scoreless after halftime as Galatasaray scored twice more to secure their first Champions League victory of the campaign.
Makes six saves despite rout
Cakir made six saves and allowed four goals in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Barcelona.
Analysis: Cakir made six saves while allowing four goals during Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Barcelona. He repeatedly kept Galatasaray alive during Barcelona's 22-shot barrage, denying Anthony Gordon several times and also stopping Joao Cancelo and Dani Olmo before the Portuguese finally beat him shortly before halftime. Cakir faced sustained pressure as Barcelona put 11 attempts on target and produced three second-half goals, preventing the margin from becoming even wider with further stops late in the match. Cakir will look to show a better figure in next Wednesday's clash against Lille.
