Another bench appearance

Rahimi recorded no stats in Thursday's 2-0 defeat to France.

Analysis: Rahimi appeared from the bench at forward once again for Morocco, not given the start despite being expected to, with Ismael Saibari (hamstring) out. He would still play 28 minutes but was unable to do a whole lot, recording only three passes and no shots. All six of his appearances this World Cup came from the bench, notching two goals and one assist in 157 minutes of play.

Scores off bench Saturday

Rahimi scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 win versus Canada.

Analysis: Rahimi found the back of the net in the dying moments of the match, taking advantage of a through ball from Brahim Diaz to close out the scoring. Despite being a substitute in each of his five appearances in the World Cup, Rahimi has two goals and one assist. He'd be the first option to start upfront in the quarterfinals if Ismael Saibari (hamstring) isn't fit to play in the next round.

Scores in shootout to progress

Rahimi generated one shot (one on goal) in Monday's 1-1 (4-3) penalty shootout win over Netherlands.

Analysis: Rahimi scored Morocco's second penalty of the shootout, which was the first they scored and helped them progress to take on Canada in the round of 16. The attacker has been a substitute in all four games played in this tournament and scored and assisted in the final group game against Haiti. Early in extra-time, Moroccan fans thought Rahimi had put Morocco ahead, but Bart Verbruggen produced a tremendous save.

Nets game-winning goal

Rahimi scored one goal and assisted once from two shots and one chance created in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Haiti.

Analysis: Rahimi would come onto the field in the 70th minute and waste no time putting his stamp on the contest, as the forward bagged the game-winning goal in the 78th minute. This comes as his first goal of the tournament, having only played 27 minutes through his three appearances. However, this was not all for the forward, as he would earn an assist on Gessime Yassine's 89th-minute goal. He then appears to be an intriguing super-sub as Morocco progresses in the World Cup.
