Remains second choice
Lunin remains the backup goalkeeper behind Thibaut Courtois and has yet to play a competitive minute this season.
Analysis: Lunin continues to operate as the clear second choice behind Thibaut Courtois, leaving him without an appearance this season. The goalkeeper has proven to be a reliable replacement in previous campaigns when called upon, but his opportunities remain dependent largely on Courtois' availability or rotation. Lunin should therefore continue to see limited playing time while Courtois remains healthy.
Should return against Rayo
Lunin (undisclosed) was training fully Thursday and will likely be an option for Saturday's clash against Rayo Vallecano, the club posted.
Analysis: Lunin had been ruled out of the Champions League opener against Inter Milan after not being spotted in the last team training session ahead of the clash, an absence that forced Real Madrid to rely on other options behind Thibaut Courtois in goal. His full return to training now confirms he has recovered, positioning him to reclaim his backup role for the upcoming league match.
