Withdrawn at halftime in defeat
Cherki generated one shot (one on goal), one cross (one accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 38th minute.
Analysis: Cherki has definitely seen better days, as the Frenchman failed to last more than 45 minutes. He had one shot on target, delivered one accurate cross and took one corner against Aston Villa. The midfielder created only two chances and had two touches in the opposition box. He was subbed off to make way for Phil Foden, and needless to say, Cherki will be keen to put this performance behind him.
Five shots, records goal
Cherki scored one goal to go with five shots (two on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and three chances created in Tuesday's 5-1 win over AEK Athens.
Analysis: Cherki was back on the field for City in UCL play after getting some rest in league action over the weekend, starting and playing the full 90. The attacker would score a goal in the 57th minute, his first UCL goal and goal contribution of the season. He now has a goal in three of his past four appearances, continuing to be one of the most exciting players in the Premier League.
