Recovers from second ACL injury

Matazo suffered a second ACL injury, this time to his right knee, after being withdrawn early in the trip to Charlton Athletic back in April, according to the club.

Analysis: Matazo sustained this latest injury in April and is likely to return at the very end of the year or in early 2027, an especially cruel setback given his history with the same type of injury on the opposite knee. He joined Hull permanently from Monaco after making his senior debut with the French club in 2020, and this second ACL tear represents a major blow to his recovery timeline and overall development heading into the new 2026/27 Premier League season.
