Lautaro Valenti
Not reintegrated by new coach
Valenti (not injury-related) didn't make Parma's squad for Saturday's match versus Inter.
Analysis: Valenti will remain unavailable even though Parma changed their coach during the break, as the decision to exclude him for disciplinary reasons was rubber-stamped by the management. It's not yet known whether he could be back at some point.
Excluded for Genoa tilt
Valenti "won't be available Sunday for disciplinary reasons," coach Carlos Cuesta stated.
Analysis: Valenti broke some sort of internal rule in recent days and won't be an option for this one. He has played just once so far, appearing as a sub, as he's behind DIego Carlos, Enrico Delprato and Mariano Troilo in the pecking order. Abdoulaye Ndiaye and Dominik Drobnic will deputize the likely starters.
Busy defensively in 1-0 loss
Valenti had two tackles (one won) and nine clearances in Sunday's 1-0 loss to Como.
Analysis: Valenti was given a busy defensive display as Parma lost 1-0 to Como. The defender started his second game in a row after a period of three games out of the team. He made nine clearances, the sixth time this year that he reached this number. He wwas unable to help his side to a win despite his defensive efforts.
DNP in Pisa contest
Valenti (thigh) didn't feature in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Pisa.
Analysis: Valenti was fit after a small injury but wasn't deployed, as the coach decided to give another shot to Abdoulaye Ndiaye. He'll have to wait for his next opportunity after being a regular for most of the season. He has logged at least one tackle in his last three showings, totaling four (one won) and posting three blocks and 11 clearances over that span, with no clean sheets.
Available versus Pisa
Valenti (undisclosed) "has recovered from his small problem," coach Carlos Cuesta relayed.
Analysis: Valenti won't need to miss time after being pulled from the starting lineup last week due to discomfort while warming up. He'll compete to get the nod with Abdoulaye Ndiaye and Sascha Britschgi in this one. He has logged at least one tackle in his last three games, totaling four (one won) and adding three blocks and 11 clearances, with no clean sheets over that span. He has recorded one or more clearances in every tilt, averaging 5.4 per game.
Escapes without strain
Valenti is dealing with some muscular discomfort, but the exams ruled out a lesion, Tuttomercatoweb relayed.
Analysis: Valenti picked up an ailment while warming up and was pulled from the starting lineup, but his issue isn't too worrisome, and he might be able to recover for Saturday's home contest against Pisa. Abdoulaye Ndiaye or Sascha Britschgi would replace him if needed.
