Fit for bench role
Fellhauer (strain) is fit for the bench for Saturday's friendly against Saarbrucken, according to the club.
Analysis: Fellhauer had been forced to stop training Thursday with a muscle injury that coach Manuel Baum described as slight discomfort, so his inclusion among the substitutes is an encouraging sign after that early scare. His limited role suggests a cautious approach as Augsburg continues to manage his workload through the rest of preseason.
Dealing with muscle injury
Fellhauer had to stop training on Thursday and is now questionable for Saturday's friendly due to a muscle injury, according to manager Manuel Baum, per Augsburger Allgemeine. "Felle has slight muscular problems."
Analysis: Fellhauer looks to be going through a bit of a struggle to start the pre-season training, as he is now dealing with a muscle injury. Luckily for the defender, it doesn't appear to be too serious. However, he could still very well miss the friendly to be cautious, leaving his return a bit later in the pre-season cycle.
Scores as substitute in win
Fellhauer scored one goal to go with four shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Monchengladbach.
Analysis: Fellhauer served as a backup option for the first time in league play since Sept. 20 after being a regular starter, but he still got heavily involved as he was required to replace the injured Dimitris Giannoulis (undisclosed) in the early stages of Saturday's matchup. Fellhauer found the back of the net via right-footed finish in the 42nd minute while attempting a season-high four shots. Having found consistency in a wing-back role throughout his first Bundesliga campaign, he's now totaling three goals and two assists over 33 appearances.
Eight crosses from right-back
Fellhauer generated eight crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Analysis: Fellhauer had the chance to get forward throughout Saturday's draw and he took that with aplomb, bombing forward at every chance. He sent in eight crosses and created a pair of chances during the draw. He was active down the wing throughout and tormented the Frankfurt backline. He should have the chance to do the same thing in the final three matches of the league campaign.
