Flurry of service off the bench
Luismi Cruz had nine crosses (four accurate) and seven corners in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Betis.
Analysis: Cruz put up impressive service numbers in just 25 minutes of action, though it didn't translate to an assist for the attacker. If he gets moved back to the starting lineup, he should be able to translate this volume into a good offensive showing against Real Sociedad. Real Sociedad have allowed 13 goals already across seven LaLiga games this season.
Another impressive outing
Cruz scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 3-2 win against Villarreal.
Analysis: Cruz continued his strong start for Deportivo, scoring in the 3-2 win over Villarreal. He now has a goal and an assist through the first four matches, earning starts in three of those contests. The midfielder has also contributed five key passes, five successful dribbles, two shots on target, and one tackle won, highlighting his impact at both ends of the pitch.
Provides one assist
Cruz assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and four corners in Monday's 1-1 draw against Malaga.
Analysis: Cruz set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's opener in the 21st minute, finding the striker with a well-placed ball following a quick counterattack. The midfielder remained heavily involved creatively, adding five crosses and four corners before being replaced in the 73rd minute. His involvement on set pieces and ability to create from both central and wide areas should make Cruz an important source of chances for Deportivo this season, particularly with Aubameyang providing a proven finisher ahead of him.
Creative midfielder in Deportivo
Cruz ended the season having made 40 appearances for Deportivo La Coruna, contributing three goals and 10 assists in what was a productive campaign from the midfielder.
Analysis: Cruz's creative output ranked among the best in the squad, with his vision and delivery from wide areas providing a steady stream of chances for the forwards throughout the season. He heads into the new campaign as one of the club's most reliable creative outlets, with his understanding alongside Yeremay Hernandez and Mario Soriano Carreno giving Deportivo a fluid and dangerous attacking trio to face La Liga oppositions.
