Productive display versus Parma
Luiz had six shots (two on goal), four crosses (zero accurate) and three corners and created one scoring chance in Saturday's 2-0 victory versus Parma.
Analysis: Luiz put together his second good showing in a row and is one of the few midfielders standing, considering Khephren Thuram's (knee) and Weston McKennie's (undisclosed) injuries. He has notched at least three shots, four or more crosses, and at least seven corners in the first two games, likely securing a regular spot in the XI at least in the early going.
Could get another shot at Juventus
Luiz is leaving Aston Villa after his loan spell and could remain part of the Juventus squad next season, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.
Analysis: Luiz spent the previous campaign at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, not shining for either club, scoring and assisting once and posting 24 chances created, 63 crosses (13 accurate) and 37 tackles in 31 appearances (17 starts) combined. Juventus have a new coach compared to last summer and would be hard-pressed to recoup what they spent on him, so they could decide to keep him to bolster their midfield depth if they don't receive a respectable offer.
