Aouchiche had two shots (zero on goal), five crosses (two accurate) and four corners in Sunday's 0-0 draw versus SV 07 Elversberg.
Analysis: Aouchiche recorded the joint-most crosses in the game, created three chances, made 19 passes and also recorded two interceptions. He has started all four games this campaign and created nine chances.
Nets first Bundesliga goal
Aouchiche scored a goal while taking five shots (three on goal), crossing four times (one accurate) and creating two chances during Friday's 3-1 win over Union Berlin.
Analysis: Aouchiche scored in the 46th minute, striking for Schalke's second goal while leading his side in shots and crosses. The goal was the first in the Bundesliga for Aouchiche as he's combined for eight shots, six chances created and 10 crosses over the opening three matches of the season.
Inks contract extension
Aouchiche has signed a long term contract with Schalke through June 2030, with no exit clause included, according to the club. Director of professional football Youri Mulder said "Adil was an immediate strengthening for our team."
Analysis: Aouchiche joined Schalke from Sunderland last January following a loan spell at Aberdeen, and contributed eight goal involvements, including three goals and five assists, across 14 matches in the second half of the promotion winning season. The 24 year old Algerian international, who came through PSG's academy, made his senior debut for Algeria in March 2026, and his new deal reflects the club's confidence in him as a key attacking piece heading into life in the Bundesliga.
Active outing
Aouchiche generated two shots (one on goal), four crosses (zero accurate) and three corners in Sunday's 3-0 loss to FC Augsburg.
Analysis: Aouchiche was all around the attacking third for Schalke despite the rough loss Saturday, as the midfielder recorded two shots, three chances created and four crosses. He only earned five goal contributions all of last season for the club, needing to see a bit more production if he wants to be a regular in Bundesliga play.
Creative spark in midfield
Aouchiche ended the season having contributed three goals and two assists across 1,126 minutes for Schalke, bringing a burst of creativity and quality in the final months of the club's promotion-winning campaign.
Analysis: Aouchiche, formerly of PSG, delivered standout performances late in the season including goals against Paderborn and Preussen Munster, posting an outstanding average rating that reflected his growing influence in the side. Aouchiche heads into the Bundesliga as one of Schalke's most technically gifted attacking options, and his late-season form suggests he could be poised for an expanded role as the club returns to the top flight of German football.
