Signs permanently with Monaco
Fati joined Monaco permanently after the club exercised the purchase option following his loan from Barcelona, signing a contract through June 2030, the club announced.
Analysis: Fati quickly found his place at Monaco after arriving last summer, contributing 12 goals across 30 appearances and finishing as the club's second-highest scorer this season, with a goal involvement every 110 minutes representing the best ratio in Ligue 1. The 23-year-old Spanish forward was named man of the match three times in Ligue 1, including a brace in the derby against Nice and decisive goals against Lens and Metz. The season also marked a return to regular playing time for the Barcelona academy product, who had previously spent a spell at Brighton between 2023 and 2024, allowing him to rediscover his rhythm and efficiency after a difficult stretch of his career. His permanent move underlines the impact he has made at the club in a short space of time, with Monaco now securing his services for the long term as he continues to put his technical quality and goal-scoring instinct at the service of the team.
Scores in finale
Fati scored one goal to go with four shots (three on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 5-4 defeat versus Strasbourg.
Analysis: Fati found the back of the net just before halftime Sunday, a goal which gave his side the 3-1 lead heading into the break. It marked his 11th goal of the season and it was a proper end to a productive season-long loan with Monaco. He is now set to return to Barcelona next season, although it's very possible he will head back out on loan as his Barcelona career has seemingly stalled.
