Gustav Isaksen
Plays one half against Bologna
Isaksen (groin) had one off-target shot, one tackle (zero won) and one block in 45 minutes in Monday's 1-0 victory over Bologna.
Analysis: Isaksen saw plenty of action despite his subpar form, but didn't look great during his time on the pitch and lacked his usual burst. He, Matteo Cancellieri and Tijjani Noslin are engaged in a three-man battle to be the go-to right winger for the time being.
Available off bench
Isaksen (groin) is on the bench for Monday's match against Bologna.
Analysis: Isaksen recovered quicker than expected and was spotted in training Sunday, so it wasn't a big surprise to see him crack the bench for this league opener. Isaksen should see regular minutes once he's fully ready to play, though that might not come any time soon since he missed several weeks in the summer after undergoing groin surgery in early July.
Probable for Bologna fixture
Isaksen (groin) has accelerated his recovery this week and has a good chance to be called up for Monday, although he's a long shot to play, La Gazzetta dello Sport relayed.
Analysis: Isaksen has been spotted in training and could make the squad for the opener after rehabbing from a sports hernia surgery in the last few months. It'll be a while before he's seriously in contention to start. Matteo Cancellieri or Tijjani Noslin will get the nod.
Remains sidelined
Isaksen (groin) has been unavailable for all the pre-season matches, including an early cup game.
Analysis: Isaksen isn't yet on the homestretch of his recovery from groin surgery and is unlikely to be ready for the first match versus Bologna on Monday. Matteo Cancellieri and Tijjani Noslin have been taking care of the position while he's been out.
Undergoes groin surgery
Isaksen went under the knife to address a sports hernia, Lazio announced.
Analysis: Isaksen was having trouble on both legs and decided to have surgery well into the offseason after trying to avoid it. He'll likely miss time at the beginning of the next campaign as he'll have to catch up from a physical standpoint after being sidelined for the summer friendlies, Corriere dello Sport informed.
Hits the net in Cremonese tilt
Isaksen scored one goal to go with three shots (one on target) and three crosses (three accurate) and drew four fouls in Monday's 2-1 win over Cremonese.
Analysis: Isaksen benefited from Matteo Cancellieri's suspension and put a nice finish right under the crossbar from the edge of the box. It's his fifth goal in the season. He has posted one or more crosses in seven displays in a row, amassing 11 deliveries (six accurate) and logging four key passes and two tackles (one won) during that stretch. Additionally, this marked his third appearance on the trot with at least one shot, for a total of five (two on target).
