Lazar Samardžić

Productive outing in Juventus game
Samardzic created three scoring chances and registered three shots (zero on goal), six crosses (one accurate) and four corners in Sunday's 2-0 defeat against Juventus.
Analysis: Samardzic was one of the few bright spots for the Atalanta offense in this one, recording new season highs in key passes and deliveries. He has registered at least one shot, totaling 10 (one on target), and one cross, amassing 11 (three accurate) in five games in a row, scoring once and adding seven chances created and seven corners over that span.
Comes close to scoring versus Cagliari
Samardzic had four shots (zero on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and one corner and created one scoring chance in Saturday's 2-1 loss versus Cagliari.
Analysis: Samardzic had an excellent output, co-leading his club in attempts alongisde Gianluca Scamacca, but he missed the frame each time. He grazed the post after waltzing between the defenders on his best effort right before subbing off. He'll likely split duties with Mario Pasalic and Franck Kessie throughout the campaign. He has notched at least one shot, totaling seven, and one cross, accumulating five (two accurate), in all four tilts, scoring once and adding four key passes and three corners over that span.
Mostly silent in Roma fixture
Samardzic created one scoring chance and registered one shot (zero on goal), one cross (one accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Roma.
Analysis: Samardzic drew the nod after delivering off the bench in the previous game, but while he picked up stats across the board, he wasn't particularly effective. He has seen a healthy dose of minutes in the Conference League and will split duties with Mario Pasalic and Franck Kessie going forward. He has registered one shot (one total on target) and one corner (two accurate) in all three games, also posting three key passes, two corners and four tackles (two won).
Scores winner off bench
Samardzic scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Monday's 1-0 victory versus Bologna.
Analysis: Samardzic missed out on a starting role to Mario Pasalic but made an immediate impact after coming off the bench with the game still goalless and Atalanta struggling to create. The midfielder rescued one of the team's poorest performances in recent memory, scoring the winner with his only shot of the game from long-range. He did not start either of Atalanta's first two league games but was in the lineup for both legs of the Conference League qualification playoffs.
Decent display in Fiorentina match
Samardzic recorded three shots (two on goal), one interception and one chance created and drew one foul in Friday's 1-1 draw against Fiorentina.
Analysis: Samardzic got the call over Charles De Ketelaere, starting his first games since mid-January, and was pretty threatening on offense. He has continued to be used mostly as a second fiddle in his second season at Atalanta, although he occasionally showed some flashes. He finished up with six goals, one assist, 38 shots (17 on target) and 85 crosses (26 accurate) in 36 displays (13 starts).
Sound cameo versus Cagliari
Samardzic created two scoring chances and recorded four crosses (two accurate), one tackle (one won) and one corner in 13 minutes in Monday's 3-2 loss versus Cagliari.
Analysis: Samardzic tried to provide a spark late in the game and put up good numbers, but Atalanta didn't find the equalizer. He continues to operate behind Charles De Ketelaere. He has scored once and logged three shots (two on target), two chances created and five crosses (two accurate) in his last five displays (one start).
