Returns to action in friendly
Abdulhamid returned from injury and played 30 minutes in Lens' 2-0 friendly win over Standard Liege, according to coach Yannick Cahuzac. "But it also allowed us to get some long-term injured players back, with Abdulhamid able to get 30 minutes of playing time."
Analysis: Abdulhamid made his first appearance after missing several matches due to the injury that had kept him sidelined since late August. The 30-minute outing represents an important step as the wing-back rebuilds match fitness ahead of Lens' return to competitive action against Lyon. His workload could continue to be managed following the lengthy absence, while Ruben Aguilar and Michal Skoras remain alternatives on the right side.
Remains out for time being
Abdulhamid (undisclosed) remains out for the time being, according to coach Dino Toppmoller.
Analysis: Abdulhamid had already been ruled out since three games due to a contusion suffered in late August, an issue that he still has to recover from. Ruben Aguilar or Michal Skoras figure to continue competing for the right wing back spot as his absence continues.
