Melvin Zinga
Extends contract through 2027
Zinga has signed a one year contract extension with Angers SCO, keeping him at the club through June 2027, the club announced.
Analysis: Zinga joined Angers in July 2020 to play for the U19 side and progressed through the club's ranks before making his first team debut in November 2023, a Coupe de France match against Houilles in which he kept a clean sheet. Since then, the 24 year old goalkeeper has made 16 appearances for Angers, and the new deal keeps him in place as a goalkeeping option for the club heading into next season.
Allows one off bench
Zinga made one save and conceded one goal after coming off the bench during Sunday's 1-1 draw against Brest.
Analysis: Zinga was brought to replace injured Herve Koffi (undisclosed) at the start of the second frame and faced just two shots but one of them was a spectacular finish from Amine Sbai at the hour mark that just didn't give him any chance. This was just the third league appearance of the season for the goalkeeper, the first off the bench, and he finished the campaign with eight saves and five goals allowed.
