Gives up four goals
Acevedo made three saves and allowed four goals in Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Club Tijuana.
Analysis: Acevedo had a rough go on Sunday evening, conceding four goals in Santos Laguna's loss. The goalkeeper should face less pressure in the next match against Club Nexaca, a team that has just 16 goals in 14 Liga MX games.
Signs new contract
Acevedo signed a new contract with Santos Laguna until 2030 on Wednesday.
Analysis: Acevedo is the clear-cut No. 1 option between the posts for Santos Laguna and is also a regular in the Mexico NT setup, so it makes sense for the Torreon club to hand him a new deal to keep him around. Acevedo has four clean sheets in 13 appearances in the 2026 Apertura campaign.
