Takes five shots in loss
Martinez had five shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Tuesday's 2-0 loss versus Leon.
Analysis: Martinez is getting comfortable as Tigres' starting forward, but he couldn't find the back of the net in this one. He's a threat to at least record a few shots per game -- especially considering all the players playing behind him as playmakers. Martinez should remain in the XI ahead of Saturday's match at Pumas UNAM.
Scores vs. Toluca
Martinez scored one goal to go with five shots (two on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Friday's 3-2 win over Toluca.
Analysis: Martinez, who scored two goals in a friendly match during the international break, found the back of the net in this matchup with a close-range finish following an assist from another new signing, Emiliano Gomez. Martinez should remain Tigres' go-to option upfront, and with consistent minutes, it's only a matter of time before he starts finding the back of the net on a regular basis.
