Scores brace at Cruz Azul
Vega scored two goals to go with three shots (three on goal), six crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 3-3 draw against Cruz Azul.
Analysis: Vega scored twice in the second half to complete Toluca's comeback and now has four goals in the season, but they couldn't hold the lead and settled for the road draw. The forward led his side in crosses and duels won (11) during the match. He also took two of their five corner kicks.
Assists twice in loss
Vega assisted twice to go with one shot (zero on goal), six crosses (three accurate) and five corners in Sunday's 3-2 loss against Santos.
Analysis: Vega was impactful despite the final result, delivering a corner kick that led to Federico Vinas' 25th-minute goal and putting a low ball into the six-yard box that Paulinho pushed into the net in the 43rd of the match. The playmaker added season-high counts of seven chances created and four tackles won for one of his most complete performances of the year. With two goals and two assists to his name in seven Apertura games, and playing a major role in set pieces, he may continue to offer high offensive upside regardless of opposition.
