Canale generated 15 clearances, two blocks and one interception and won five of five tackles in Monday's 1-1 (5-4) penalty shootout win against Germany.

Analysis: Canale drew his first start after being limited by an injury earlier in the competition. He was all over the place defensively, putting together an impressive stat line, although Kai Havertz escaped him on Germany's goal, and converted the decisive PK during the shoot-out. He'll likely continue starting if he holds up physically. He had notched just one tackle (one won) in his two previous short cameos. He replaced Omar Alderete (knee), who was banged up, and Victor Gustavo Velazquez at the position.
