Set to miss around four weeks
Nunez suffered a muscle tear in his left adductor during Tuesday's training session and is expected to be out for around four weeks, according to the club.
Analysis: Nunez is set to miss around four weeks with a muscle tear in his left adductor, a fresh setback for coach Claudio Giraldez during a busy run of fixtures. The defender had come off the bench in the final minutes of the Europa League match against Juventus and was in the squad against Alaves on Sunday, so Celta lose a rotation option in defense. If his recovery goes to plan, he could return in the second half of November.
Dealing with adductor injury
Nunez will undergo tests due to an adductor injury and is out for the time being, the club announced Tuesday.
Analysis: Nunez has been the definition of a rotation option for Celta Vigo this season, starting in five of 11 matches but also staying on the bench as an unused sub five times as well. The 26-year-old provides coverage across the back, so while his absence will trim the team's depth, it shouldn't cause significant issues from a fantasy perspective.
